Who is Katie I Am?

I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t know where I’m going, or if I’m headed in the right direction. I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up or where I want to live.  I don’t know who I’ll marry, or if I’ll marry, or how many kids I’ll have, or how much money I’ll make. I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing with my life, or if it’s predestined, or if it’s entirely up to me. I don’t know if there’s a god or gods. I don’t know if there’s a heaven or hell. I don’t know why forever means different things to different people. I don’t know why people make or break promises. I don’t know why we fall in love with one person but not another.

I do know that I haven’t reached even the first level of my potential. I do know that I learn more about myself and my world every single day. I do know that there are 1500 things I want to do with my life and probably 1490 things I won’t accomplish. I do know that people change my world every day without even realizing. I do know that I do the same for others. I do know that beauty is all around us and that very seldom are my eyes really open. I do know that I make progress every single day, even if that progress is unremarkable or unnoticed or insignificant. I do know that every single day I grow closer to that person I’m destined to be. That person I want to be. That person I already know I am.

I do know that this blog is my record. My ups and downs are chronicled here. My life stages. My triumphs and failures. Even an embarrassing moment or two.

Katie I Am. Welcome to my world.

    Katie,

I came across your blog on Alltop and am glad I got to check it out. I run a site called Gradspot.com, which is a resource for seniors and recent grads transitioning to life after college, and I think you hit a lot of important issues. Keep up the great writing!

    Chris

    Hey Katie,
I’ve read your blog a lot and I think I have something that you or your readers may be interested in…
My name is Sarah Small. I am an assistant of Jeff Rivera’s at Gumbo Writers, and we are wondering if you are interested in some content regarding finding work in this day and age as a young professional, as well as maintaining a successful business. As you well know, right now there is an enormous group of recent college and university graduates that are more than qualified, yet remain either unemployed, or stuck in undesirable positions.
We are working with Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. You may have seen him on The Today Show or heard of his book “The Trouble With HR: An Insider’s Guide to Finding and Keeping the Best People.” We put together a bunch of video tips, audio samples, and written interviews for websites that are interested in helping members of this younger generation break into the workforce successful. The reason I put the content together was partially to get the word out about Johnny but also because I know how crucial of a topic it is, and felt that the information is extremely relevant, especially now with the economy’s downturn (and hopefully, it’s future upturn, fingers crossed).
If you’re interested in checking any of it out, please feel free to send me an email and I’d be more than glad to show you some more samples. Here’s one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTs–xZlQP0

    Thank you for your time,
    Sarah
